73 years after The Beatles formed - we have their last masterpiece.

It’s a big day for The Beatles fans – as Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr – the last surviving Beatles have released – The Last Beatles Song – Now and Then.

This all came about when Yoko said to Paul, back in 1994 - "I think I have a tape of John…" which she gave to them - and on it were a handful of demo songs that John hadn’t finished.

They went to Paul’s apartment and finished what John had started, with George putting down the guitar… Ringo the drums and Paul the bass.
From that came the singles Free as a Bird – and Real Love… which were released in 1995 and 1996.

But the track for Now and Then was too clunky and noisy, and there was no technology then to separate the vocals. So, they left it.

It wasn’t until AI technology came about that with the help of NZ director Peter Jackson – they could isolate John’s vocals… and with the session they did in 1995 – they had the late George’s guitar track, too.

And so, they worked with Peter Jackson to clean up John’s vocal audio and piano… add in George’s guitar - and went back to the studios to give us The Last Beatles Song… Now & Then.

And if you would love to see the incredible journey the lads took to get here - check out the Short Film directed by Peter Jackson.

With exclusive footage and commentary from Paul, Ringo, George, Sean Ono Lennon and Peter Jackson.
