The Nominations for the 97th Academy Awards are out

Nicole Kidman gets a surprise snub.

 The 97th Academy Awards nominations have been announced after a delay due to the California wildfires.

'Emilia Perez' leads with 13 nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress for Karla Sofía Gascón, and Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldana.

'Wicked' has scored 10 noms with Cynthia Erivo up for Best Actress and Ariana Grande for Best Supporting Actress.

Also nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role are Demi Moore for The Substance, Karla Sofia Gascon for Emilia Perez, Mikey Madison for Anora, & Fernanda Torres for I’m Still Here.

Up for Best Actor in a Leading Role is Adrian Brody for The Brutalist, Timothee Chalamet for A Great Unknown, Colman Domingo for Sing Sing, Ralph Fiennes for The Conclave and Sebastian Stan for The Apprentice. 

For the Aussies... a surprise snub for Nicole Kidman who everyone thought was a shoo-in for an award nomination for the racy movie BabyGirl.
But Guy Pearce has received his first ever Oscars nod with a Best Supporting Actor nomination for The Brutalist.

The 2025 Oscars ceremony, hosted by Conan O’Brien gets underway on March 3rd at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood with channel 7 and 7 Plus broadcasting the ceremony.
