A carer has been threatened and robbed while trying to protect his client at a home in Oakford.

Police say two men entered a home on Tuart Road around 8.15pm on Saturday, February 17 and confronted the male carer, aged in his 30s.

"The men attempted to open doors and look around the home and as they went to enter the bedroom of the vulnerable and disabled person, the carer placed himself between the men and the bedroom door," a WA Police spokesperson said.

"The men stole the carer’s phone so he could not call police, before they fled on foot."

The men are described as being fair skinned, medium/large builds, approximately 172cms to 183cms tall, both had short dark hair, one had facial hair and the other a ‘French’ moustache.

Police believe the men are locals and are investigating whether recent comments on a local social media group, which incorrectly identified the home as being for former prisoners, may be linked to the incident.

Armadale Detectives would like to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident who may have seen the two men.

Anyone with any information relating to this incident, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
