The City of Mandurah has been recognised at the recent Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards.

The City won Bronze in the Major Festivals and Events category for the Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest 2024, while the City’s dedicated tourism arm, Visit Mandurah, was honoured with the Silver award in the Visitor Information Services category.

This marks another achievement for the Mandurah Visitor Centre, which won Gold at the state level in 2022 and 2023, as well as Silver nationally in 2023.

Mayor Rhys Williams said the awards were a testament to the incredible work being done by Mandurah’s tourism operators and the community as a whole.

“This recognition at the WA Tourism Awards underscores our commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for both our residents and visitors, and reaffirms our innovative work in tourism industry,” Mayor Williams said.

“We are immensely proud of what we’ve achieved hand in hand with our community and local businesses, and these awards reflect the hard work and dedication of all those involved in promoting Mandurah as a premier destination.

“We have had huge successes in positioning Mandurah as a leader in the tourism sector, and together we are shaping a new story for Mandurah.”

Visit Mandurah General Manager Anita Kane expressed her pride in the recognition, emphasising the dedication of the team.

“We are absolutely thrilled to receive this recognition,” Ms Kane said.

“This award reflects our commitment to providing ‘best-in-class’ experiences for our visitors while supporting our local businesses. Our visitor centre staff are truly the unsung heroes, delivering exceptional service and offering support to both visitors and the local community. Taking home a medal for the third year in a row is an outstanding achievement, and I couldn’t be prouder of their dedication and hard work.”
