Mandurah Detectives are asking for the public's help to identify a man who may be able to assist them with a fraud incident.

A woman in her 80s received a phone call from a Melbourne phone number on February 5, with the caller claiming they were from the National Australia Bank security office.

"The victim was advised to withdraw money to the value of USD $10,000, stating the money would assist in the apprehension of scammers," a WA Police spokesperson said.

"The male caller provided the victim with a collection location and password with details to confirm the money was given to the correct person."

As their investigations continue, detectives have released images of a man who they wish to speak to over the incident.

He is described as about 170cms tall and has a full beard.

Anyone who can identify the person pictured, or who has any information relating to this incident, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestopperswa.com.au
