The 2023 Channel 7 Rockingham Beach Cup (RBC) is just around the corner with thousands set to descend on the Rockingham Foreshore for the two-day event.

The event will run across Saturday November 11 and Sunday November 12, featuring a community carnival on both days and a series of horse races along the beach on Sunday afternoon.

This year’s community carnival at Churchill Park and Bell Park will feature free, family-friendly entertainment including artisan markets, live music (with performances from the City’s Breakthrough Music Competition artists) food stalls and activities for families to enjoy.

Sunday’s racing program will have horse races kicking off periodically from 12pm, while the Fashions on the Foreshore competition will also take place.

City of Rockingham Mayor Deb Hamblin encouraged visitors from across the state to come and Rediscover Rockingham during the event.

“The City has been a proud supporter of the RBC since it began in 2016. Last year nearly 22,000 people attended over the course of the weekend, with approximately $1.5 million injected into our local economy,” Mayor Hamblin said.

“Council appreciates the significant tourism and economic benefits the RBC brings to our City, which is why it approved to provide $177,500 of Iconic Event Sponsorship to the Rotary Club of Palm Beach WA to help them deliver the event once again in 2023. The two ticketed areas in the Palm Beach Lounge and the Palm Beach Oasis are fabulous places to catch WA’s only beach racing carnival.

“Our City is known as the place where the coast comes to life, and the RBC does a fantastic job of showcasing this. There’s so much to do in Rockingham, and we encourage visitors from far and wide to come and Rediscover Rockingham and explore everything our City has to offer during the RBC weekend.”

All proceeds from the event support the Rotary Club of Palm Beach WA and its beneficiaries including Variety WA and the Australian Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.

The event supports and showcases retired racehorses.

No betting takes place and no whips are used during the races.

Free parking will be available at the Village Green.

Attendees visiting by public transport can catch  the 555 bus from Rockingham Train Station.

Visitors travelling by sea can anchor in the designated boat viewing area located between Wanliss Street carpark and the Val Street Jetty.
