An 18-year-old man has been slapped with a fine after leading police on a chase through Lakelands and surrounding suburbs.

Police Air Wing tracked the teenager, who was riding an off-road motorbike, along Gordon Road around 6pm on November 8.

He allegedly rode recklessly through nearby areas, travelling on the wrong side of the road and on multiple footpaths where people were walking.

The man also rode through red traffic lights several times.

"Following communications with officers on the ground, the accused was tracked until he came to a halt in the bicycle underpass at the intersection of Kwinana Freeway and Safety Bay Road in Baldivis," a WA Police spokesperson said.

"In under a minute, officers on the ground located the rider and he was quickly apprehended.

"It will be further alleged the 18-year-old man has never held a driver’s licence."

The motorcycle was seized by police.

The man from Madora Bay was charged with reckless driving, no authority to drive and using an unlicensed vehicle on a road.

He appeared before the Mandurah Magistrates Court this week where he received a fine.
